The time window:
· 1:00pm - 2:00pm = A - I
· 2:00pm - 3:00pm = J - R
· 3:00pm - 4:00pm = S - Z
· 4:00pm - 6:00pm = Open to all
In order to spread out the traffic a little bit, we ask that students with last names A – I try to come between 1:00-2:00pm, those with the last names J-R between 2:00-3:00pm and those with last names S – Z try to come between 3:00-4:00pm. We will still be available from 4:00-6:00pm if your time slot doesn’t work for your schedule. In the segment within CJH Connections, we mentioned the possibility of a Thursday early evening window, but that was incorrect. If you are absolutely unable to make the 5-hour window on this day, and you have items that you need to pick up or drop off, feel free to reach out and let us know (email someone in the main office). However, it is our hope that you can try to make this day and time work.
The Plan!
Here are the plans for students to drop off school materials (instruments, library books, textbooks...) and pick up some important items (yearbooks, NJHS certs, 3rd season sport pictures, academic awards...).
There will be two different zones in front of our school to take care of these two important tasks. Please note that we are not having students or families come into the building to gather up items. Please try to attend, or email us if you are unable but have a specific need.
_____
On your student’s assigned time of day, please drive or walk to CJH and drive into the farthest driveway which will take you in front of the gym.
A staff member will approach, get your name, and ask a number of important questions like “Who is your 4th period teacher?” This will allow us to run back and forth to get any items we have ready for you.
We will bring you your items and hand them to you in the car. Please know that yearbooks will only be able to be picked up by that specific student’s parent or the student him/herself. If you have another student in the car, that student may pick up their yearbook. Please be aware that yearbooks will not be distributed to anyone else. You will be directed to continue following the line of cars throughout the process.
After you collect your items, you will be asked if you brought items that belong to the school (e.g. an instrument, a library book, a textbook, etc.) with you. If so, you will be sent to a zone in front of the main office to drop off any materials that belong to the school. The staff members in this area will have plastic bins in which to place these items you’ve brought. You can place all the items that you have to return into the bin without any contact. If you drive through, you will not even need to get out of your car. If you don’t bring any items, you will be shown the best way to exit.
Please note that if your student left any library or textbooks in their locker, those items will be reclaimed when our custodial staff clears lockers, and so no trip to the school is necessary for those items. One other detail is that for instruments specifically, Mr. Kelsey will be on site in the “drop off zone” and will be working to collect any and all music materials (music books, folders, instruments, mutes, etc.). If you have a larger instrument checked out, he may ask you to pull around to the staff parking area to place it by the exterior door to the music room.
Thanks for reading, and we hope to see all students next week for DRIVE-THROUGH DAY!
Take care and stay healthy, Cougars!
